Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden ‘Siraj Bagh’ Opens for Tourists in Srinagar!

It’s a spectrum of colors featuring thousands of tulips, almost of 46 different varieties, along with many other species of flowers including hyacinths, daffodils and ranunculus, which are attracting tourists to Asia’s largest tulip garden ‘Siraj Bagh’, which is now open for tourists in Srinagar.

The beautiful climatic conditions of Kashmir is best suited for blossoming of tulips. The number of tourists is expected to increase this year, after a massive decline last year due to political unrest. This tulip garden is also known as Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden spread over an area of about 30 hectares. It is situated on the foothills of Zabarwan Range with an overview of Dal Lake.

Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Indian Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister dreams to make India a global hotspot for cruise tourism — be it river or sea. Massive work is in progress on the Ganges for initiating cruise tourism and to make the river clean and pollution-free. Mr. Gadkari said that about 168 cruises arrived in major ports last year; hence, a terminal in Mumbai is being constructed spending Rs. 800 crore.
